For her Fall/Winter
08-09 collection, Saniya draws inspiration from the streets
of Toronto. She finds these rustic and rich, nostalgic yet
futuristic streets to represent the cycle of life in themselves.
Toronto brings the whole world together with its diversity
– Disneyland’s ride, “it’s a small,
small world” can be likened to a drive through the city
of Toronto! Saniya responds to the colour, images and architecture
found in the streets to create interesting textures and combine
them with unique renderings – bringing the wearer something
special to treasure.
